"Stub" is a wiki term for a page that is not finished, and really isn't complete enough to be useful. A page is marked as stub in order to encourage you to add to it, making both the article and the wiki as a whole more complete.

Often pages are marked stub to indicate that the author of the article intends to come back and work on it later. These pages would better be marked "Under Construction", unless the person really wouldn't mind some help!

A stub that isn't better than leaving the page blank entirely shouldn't be there at all. By leaving a page blank, you encourage people who like building wikis to click the "red link" that leads to the page and settle new territory. However, because in this wiki in particular, stubs are put into a "stub" category, those who wish to actively help the community can also just go "stub surfing" to help make the wiki stronger.

In short: Stub surf! Don't make too many stubs! Don't mark something as a stub if it's complete! And don't edit a blank page just to mark it a stub!
