The Setting
Set in Middle Tennessee/Upper Cumberland, the story follows the romance of witch Millia Forrest and werewolf pack protector Luke Wiessburg/Whitson/Montblanc (just pick a last name).
The Cast
Millia Forrest is an art teacher by day and midwife by night, trying to just have a normal but interesting life. She fears losing her job. She does not want anyone at the school to know she is a witch. She is a genetic witch and has the sight.
Luke is a vampire posing as a shapeshifter, living in the basement of a werewolf den. Incredibly rich, he lives a sparse life with no home of his own or car (until recently). Obsessed with having Millia as his own, he is finally forced out of being a hermit to pursue her.
Carl and Clarice Butcher are the Alpha male and female of the Butcher clan. They have benefited from Luke living with them for decades. On full moon nights, Luke has protected them, keeping them from being hunted down by humans and other wolf packs alike.
Janie is their late-teen daughter, who has gotten herself pregnant with twin pups. She is being homeschooled until after the babies are born and is Luke's favorite 'niece'.
Jack Taylor is the father of Janie's babies. He is from the neighboring county and a werewolf too. Because Carl and Clarice's oldest son has gone to college and is not interested in the farm, Jack is the next male in line, thus he is Clarice's biggest rival.
Strega Nana Anna Shipiro is the elderly midwife to whom Millia is apprenticed. She has recently lost her drivers licence and uses Millia for transportation all over the Upper Cumberland. Her human husband died some time ago, and her children have apparently moved away. She is a genetic witch and uses plant and herbal magic. Nana Anna is also a devout Catholic, as it turns out, a very common choice among the known historic and modern Italian Strega.
