Comic:Brooklyn Beatdown
From CGWiki
Brooklyn Beatdown is a comic strip by Steve Soldwedel. It contains strips that are hand drawn, then colored in Photoshop, and also ones that are mixed-media. The strip follows the main character, Vincent, through his everyday life in Brooklyn (with occasional ventures into Manhattan). He is usually accompanied by his friend Harry, a bearded, easy-going guy who tends to have everything go his way. Vincent, on the other hand, has horrible luck and meets with seemingly constant misfortune, if only on a minor scale.
The strip began in 2004 as a class project at the School of Visual Arts. It languished for a long time until the author / artist took the time to photoshop his last purely hand-drawn strip, The Flow, which sparked a revival of his inspiration to contribute to the strip.
While finding time to update it is difficult, it will see updates closer together than two years apart. The next step in moving to the mixed media strips is for the artist to buy himself a digital camera to snap backdrops for his panels.
