==Setting== Coiling Spine is an action/adventure comic with a dash of dark humor and the American western that takes place somewhere around 2113, 100 years after the mess that caused the downfall of human dominance on Earth. Others, non-humans, who've come and gone through the curtain that separates worlds have taken over. ===The Curtain=== The curtain is the invisible barrier between worlds. Barely any humans knew about it before the mess in 2013. For centuries upon centuries, "others" have been immigrating to Earth through the curtain. Certain beings have the ability to pull it back and move to any world they know about, anywhere they wish. Others use machines. Regardless of how, Earth has been populated by more than humans for quite some time. Not until after the mess did they take over. ===The Mess=== The mess is a mysterious event lost to general knowledge in that few people, if any, really know what happened. It's a blank slate in the minds of others who are still alive and any humans who were alive then have died off. Some believe there was a nuclear war, which would explain the water situation. Some believe that there was a natural catastrophe. Many speculate, few, if any, really know. ===The Water Situation=== People who drink water out in the open usually die. Water has to either be imported from other worlds or found to be clean. Though there seems to be quite a lot of water passing around for it to be so scarce, only the people who don't need clean water seem to notice because everyone else is too busy not having enough. ===Society=== Gang rule is dominance. A loose social hierarchy runs society. At the top are the gang bosses, then their priveledged chosen (usually good fighters or family), next the gang commanders, followed by those in their groups. Next are the servants, then the slaves. Outside the gangs directly are hired work and prostitutes, as well as small-time gangs who work for the larger ones. The two specialized groups are the mercenaries and the train-runners. Mercenaries are rarely ever trusted, even when hired for years, while train-runners are rarely ever attacked, as they provide both much-needed transportation, and corpse clean-up (also much-needed.)

Kadeo
Kadeo suffers from a condition that sends him back through the curtain to his own world if he stays on Earth too long, and seeks treatment to prolong his time. While at first he only desires to take his drug with its bad side effects and stay on Earth, his ambition soon grows with the scope of what he can do in this new vision of the world.Kadeo Cast Page
Damian
Damian is the son of Drake DeMarco and heir to all he owns. He's paying his way home, but there's more than one party who wants to collect on his return. Entrusted to Kadeo, he's trying to stay alive in a gang-ridden land he's not suited for.Damian Cast Page
Muratov
Muratov once suffered from Kadeo's condition and it cost him dearly. In return for being cured by Domingo, he's worked for years with that debt of honor in mind. His loyalty is not blind though and he keeps an eye on whether or not those he's loyal are deserving.Muratov Cast Page
Antonina
Antonina is the only surviving child of Muratov. While her father has gone over the hill despite his strength, she's in her physical prime and demands respect from those around her. She follows her father with reluctant willingness.Antonina Cast Page
