DATAROM! (an acronym for Dragons And Transformations And Robots, Oh My!) was a semi-weekly webcomic about a cursed college student, his robots, and his friends engaging in strange, bizarre adventures. The college student, Ein, was cursed (by himself) and became a weredragon. The comic focused primarily on the cast's battles against several evil forces that wanted to harness and abuse Ein's powers.

As of August 20, 2007, the comic ended after a three-year run due to time constraints and lack of interest by both the artist and fans.

Background

DATAROM! began as a comic done in the artist's spare time during his high school career, beginning in ninth grade. After a couple of years and around eight storylines completed, the artist decided that he would restart and redo the comic, this time planning to put them on the internet for a wider audience. In April of 2004, HazokiS began his revamp of DATAROM! and put it on the web.

Format

The first comics followed the formatting of their predecessors, with completely hand-drawn elements. At first the comic only updated on Saturdays and Sundays with full-page comics, with 18 panels per page. They were limited to black-and-white, and, due to the confined space and thick utensil used to ink, the comics' text was almost illegible. The comics were also fairly messy in detail, and the line widths would often change due to pens dying.

By the start of the second main storyline, the comic would improve quite an amount. The comic would given full-color and the update schedule would be switched to a full-page on Sundays and three six-panel comics on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Near the middle of the third main storyline, the comic would gain digital text, finally giving viewers a much easier time at reading.

During the third short storyline, the comic would lose its Sunday updates, as the artist had lost the time due to the starting of a second webcomic, Furthia High (Furthia High would also lose its Sunday comic). The comics themselves would also become noticeably larger during this storyline. This formatting would remain the same until the end of the comic.

Ending

By 2007, the artist could no longer juggle his time between DATAROM!, Furthia High, and real life activities. Thus, HazokiS resolved to end DATAROM! early. However, due to the 'last' storyline being so long, it took many months before an actual ending could be conceived. The comic's end would also be premature, as only four of the eight original storylines were completed.

On August 20, 2007, the comic ended with a montage-esque Flash, showing a basic summary of what would occur to the cast after the events in the comic. Although the Flash alludes to a possible sequel, it also says that it's doubtful. As of now, the artist has no future plans for DATAROM!
