DBC Q&A (CGwiki members can add questions)
== In the Beginning == Crooked Halo and Vapor Lock (then known as "Mac 410") were originally two of three strips printed on a monthly basis at the University of the Ozarks. The first issue came out just before finals in May 2001 and was well-received. A year after Chaos Cricet's graduation, he and Noise Monkey signed up for, and eventually obtained a site on ComicGenesis (then Keenspace), and Dim Bulb Comics went online.
== Vapor Lock == Though started with a basic "roommates" set up, Vapor Lock has intentionally flown in the face of convention, showcasing one of the two main characters, Cal and Travis, individually along with a varied cast of supporting characters. Storylines have ranged from the far-fetched to the slightly-less-far-fetched, with everything from Death to a certain world-wide retail chain being the butt of the joke. Pop culture references abound, mostly because the author is a proud geek, but if you don't get it, just assume it has something to do with Star Wars.
Ok, convention's face may not have been flown in. But it's nice to pretend.
Vapor Lock concluded, abruptly, at the end of 2005. The book was not closed on the characters, so there is the possibility that they could return, but currently, Adam "Noise Monkey" Askins has no plans for the series.
== Crooked Halo == Crooked Halo may also start from the "college roommates and their wacky adventures" premise, but half the fun of the comic is turning that convention on its ear and playing around with the cliche. After all, how many other comics feature genius hillbillies, a succubus, the personification of temptation, a smiting-obsessed archangel, and characters who move into a new house via the magic of Plotholes? Very few, we hope.
== Troubled Times == Ah, the poor black sheep of Dim Bulb. Originally conceived as a "serious" comic to showcase Noise Monkey's art and Chaos Cricket's writing, it died a slow, painful death by way of neglect. The concept--a post-apocalyptic world in which three ordinary people are imbued with magic powers to save the world--is admittedly rather hackneyed, and the once a week update schedule meant it moved at something akin to a snail's pace, but the art was good and Earl looked badass.
