Educated is a weekly comic strip that was created by Joey Martin and launched on October 1, 2006. The strip primarily focuses on the everyday life of Shannon Taylor and her experiences as a college student.

Characters
Shannon Taylor
Shannon Taylor is the main character of the strip and the only caucasian girl living in the apartment. Her personality is that of a valley girl, so she might be from Southern California. She is an avid Madden gamer and loves shopping, football, and rock music. Her favorite rock band is Pillar and is sometimes seen wearing their t-shirts. She has a difficult time in algebra class and seems perplexed by even the simplest problems.
Sayaka Tachibana
Sayaka Tachibana is Shannon's roommate and closest confidante. Unlike Shannon, Sayaka is a whiz in algebra and has a lot of patience, but Shannon can really push her patience to its limits by her inability to work the easiest of problems. She is one of two Japanese girls that live in the apartment. She sometimes refers to her friend as Shan-chan.
Karen Phillips
Karen shares an apartment with Shannon and has a very bubbly personality. She is a black girl, but acts like a white girl due to her personality and the fact that she can't stand how immature most black people act.
Miyuki Kanazawa
Miyuki is Karen's roommate and the other Japanese girl living in the apartment. She works out on a regular basis and has a 60s-like hairstyle.
Luke Davidson
Luke Davidson is the main male character of the strip. Little is known about him except that he is Shannon's boyfriend and loves football.
