Based on a set of stories/books I've written, Emperor of Orphans is the story of a not so distant future where a single man has come into complete control of the world.
The comic is currently on the first story in a set of 10+(may include short stories as well).
In "Apathy", the Emperor has ordered a mass arrest and or execution of all the citizens in L.A. which he has dubbed "The Cleansing" in an attempt to finally rid the place of it's ever increasing crime rate. Anyone who resists arrest is murdered, innocent or not.
The story is told from 3 points of view.
Henry Wolfe: The main character. A middle aged man who can't forget the world before the Emperor. He let his anger towards the Emperor destroy his life. He moves to a nearly lawless crime ridden area of L.A. to avoid the Empire's influence, but ends up at the center of the Emperor's Cleansing Operation. Henry sees this as his chance to redeem himself and die fighting for what he believes in.
Rick Derico: A guard (the Empire's version of police) living in L.A. who is called on to participate in the Cleansing. Seeking out the prize for good performance, Rick eagerly participates, but his mind is elsewhere. A newcomer to his Guard station named Jessica has caught his eye.
Segleck Duravont: A man made famous through his association with the Emperor. However the media has found no trace of his past, it's almost like he didn't exist before the Emperor's appearance. Also well known for his glorious participation in Larot's war. A cold secretive man. The Emperor has sent Segleck to take command of the Cleansing operation.
