Story

On the not-so faraway island of Detaka, the Atakans and the Denus are in the midst of the war. Ataka, afraid of losing, hired one "scientist" Dr. Skye Kiasha, to create a couple of ultimate weapons to give them the upper hand. This has resulted in the formation of a super-powered group of magical girls who take on every monster of the day that the Denus send their way. Fortunately for the Denus, however, these lovely ladies have some major issues with focusing on the problem at hand. Hijinx ensue.

Chapters

Chapter 1

Ruby: Ruby and Skye are in the midst of their whimsical daily routine, but the arrival of General Alamo with some shocking! news, may begin to set the gears in motion.

Chapter 2

Enter Sapphire: Our heroes have recently moved into a shiny new cabin in The Mountains, but who is this shady figure spying on them?

Chapter 3

The Shining Emerald: Shrinking violet Emerald has arrived to join the team, but her sporadic bouts of sensitivity may cost her a spot in magical girl land.

Chapter 4

Our First Mission: General Lieutenant calls our lovely heroes to Mocha Bay to take out the Denu General Joe Havoc. Joe, however, is definitely no Monster of the Day.

Chapter 5

Our First Mission II: The aftermath of Joe's attack has left the G.E.M.s Rubyless--a problem of which they are determined to fix. Meanwhile, Ruby learns all kinds of exciting things about the Denus.

Characters

G.E.M. Cabin

Ruby Kiasha

Android with the strength of an ox and the intelligence of a gnat. She really, really likes Skye, who also happens to be her creator. Other interests include shiny distractions, and being obnoxiously dumb. She has the power of fire and a berserker mode called Deathangel.

Skye Kiasha

A scientist perhaps? Regardless, he created Ruby, and the magical gems that enhance the powers of our heroines. Despite appearances, nearly every girl to make his acquaintance deems him "sexy" and instantly falls into a pit of warm, gushy feelings. Not that he minds the attention. He posseses the power of SCIENCE!

Sapphire Hazeno

A somewhat egotistical elfish girl who has a much needed knack for all things culinary. She's gaa-gaa for Skye, and as a result, not very fond of Ruby, her rival in love. Her power is darkness.

Emerald Mariko

A rediculously shy and emotional forest imp (but only sometimes). She can talk to animals, the wind, trees, whatever fits the needs of the plot, and also has a knack for creating plot holes. She is a master of the element of wind.

Others

King Coffee

King of Denu. Eight years ago, he declared war on the Atakans for unknown reasons. It's rumored that he's become slightly insane.

King Quartz

King of Ataka. Not much is known about him, save for his fondness of post scripts.

General Alamo

Atakan general and old friend of Skye's. Had the unfortunate assignment of trying to collect Ruby.

General Lieutenant

Mustachioed Atakan general in a permanently bad mood.

General Joe Havoc

An emotionally unstable Denu general with power over the element of water. He's an advocate of property damage.

Prince Ace

Prince of Ataka and in charge of Denu's questionable strategies. He seems to have several mysterious friends.

Background

The concept of G.E.M. was originally created in the spring of 2003, when the author was in middle school. She spent two years writing the script, and then began drawing it out back in March of 2005. It's been in progress ever since. At the moment, there are currently 21 chapters drawn out.
