A very... lets say surreal science fiction comedy about a boy, his malfunctioning robot and his ever weary friend and guardian.

Contents

Plot

"The Infamous" Nez Adams was a wannabe space pirate. The only pirating he ever managed to successfully pull off was by downloading illegal music off the internet, so he set his sights quite high the day he thought stealing the key to immortality was a good idea. With a tin can of a spaceship and his best friend Seb in tow, he set out on his last fateful mission...

Because lets face it, these "immortality potions" frequently result in only one thing. Now Seb finds himself saddled with a rather unusual little boy who he is doing his very best to bring up to be a responsible adult - Ernie. This is marred by that fact that he is also trying to run a mechanics buisiness and... oh yes, save the universe.

Chapters

Introduction 1 - [ongoing!]
Nez boards a space station in search of a Mad Science Convention which has apparently been working on a way of achieving immortality

Characters

Major characters

Nez Adams
Wherever Ernest (Or Nez, as he prefers) Adams came from and whatever he spent his... first childhood doing, he had enough money by his teenage years to purchase the swankiest ship money could buy, equip it with some stunning gadgetry and head out to adventure amongst the stars. This was until he remembered that he didn't actually know how to fly a spaceship. Unfortunately, he only remembered this about twenty seconds after smashing into a large hotel and spa complex on Venus. After paying the damages his remaining crash went into buying a very very cheap spaceship and enough Simon and Garfunkel records to convince his neighbour Seb to come along with him on his next journey.

Ernie Adams
For all intents and purposes Ernie is an eight year old who seems to have a few issues. He is dancing the line between precocious and just plain weird, has no friends his own age and spends a lot of his time in his own little fantasy world. His guardian Seb has done his best to bring up properly, but Ernie still finds himself getting in trouble. He is always concious that he have no idea who his real parents are and that he isn't ,like most eight year olds.

Sebastian Vrink
Seb likes Beethoven. He likes some of the more prominent songwriters of the latter half of the 20th century. He likes old books. He is increasingly of the opinion that he should have got a good education, got married and enjoyed his music and books in the comfort of a giant mansion somewhere. Unfortunately he comes from a poorer family who couldn't afford to indulge their son's creative pursuits, and so he found himself setting out with his friend Nez to explore the stars. A number of years later and he struggles to run a slightly shady mechanics business while caring loyally for the only “friend” he ever had.

Nora
Nannbots are the perfect answer to a busy parent's worries. They will watch over their charge with a cold mechanical eye, gently applying a teeny electric shock to promote good behaviour if the little darling misbehaves. This was the case with Nora until she got a slight reprogramming from Ernie. Exactly how much of her faculties remain intact remains to be seen, but she is now the closest thing to a best friend that Ernie has ever had and will follow him devotedly. As she says, “Spoons cant be shrunk like a penguin! They are just like a spruce tree shedding it's tadpoles.”

Minor characters

Diana Quaintence – Di-Q is a mysterious lady who is either completely off her rocker or the sanest being in the universe.

Professor Socksy – Professor Socksy once got washed with a red t-shirt and turned pink. He complained that all the other socks thought he was soft. He was soft because he'd been washed with “Soapo! Washing Powder” but that was really beside the point.

Reginald Tubey III – To the unobservant observer Tubey might appear to be one of Di-Q's henchmen. That's because he is. But he's a very overqualified henchman.

Hoom-Eye the Repulsive – To the unobservant observer Hoom-Eye might appear to be one of Blynde's henchmen. In fact, he is Professor Socksys henchman, because every professor needs a hunchbacked slavering lacky.

Doctor Goo – The Acroaching Drizzle who squelches in eternity, Doctor Goo is the last of the Slime Lords and the owner of a time machine. He is also not copyrighted to the BBC whatsoever.

Background

To create each comic I sketch it out in pencil, ink it in preferably with actual ink (although I've always got a biro with me for when I get the doodling urge!) scan it into my comuter and colour it in Paint Shop Pro. This takes me far longer than it really should!

This entire comic spawned from a doodle I did of a little boy wearing clothes which were massivly too big for him.
