History

The first NQH was created in 2001, but the story of the comic begins over a decade earlier.

Super Strawberry was the first character to be created for the future comic. He is a fruit living in Fruit Town who possesses a band and cape that grant super powers, namely flight, strength, and invincibility. All of the supporting cast were shortly developed, including Crazy Cherry, Dr. Orange, the Grape Crooks, and others that appear in NQH, but the comic was not actually drawn out for years.

Slimeball was created some years later. He was suppose to be a microscopic dust particle who battled the evil of cleaning agents and an inaccurately portrayed Venus fly trap named Cutie along with his companions, Crumb and Scumball.

Ballzo was created in the early '90s, around the first produced Super Strawberry comic (offline production). He and his friend, Mad Ball, along with his evil twin, Ozllab, went on zany adventures through the realm of Surreal Land. Mostly, nothing they did made sense, and the comic was treated more like a cartoon.

Rubber Man had his first comic created in January, 1995, after a brainstorming session. A simple janitor who dreamed of super powers got his wish when an unstable chemical reacted with a vat of rubber. Unfortunately, instead of becoming Mop Guy as he always desired, he was granted rubber powers. Even though everyone else refers to him as "Rubber Man", he refuses to accept this fact and keeps his false name. The comic continued monthly for the remainder of the year to which many still current characters were created, including the agent/lawyer, I. M. Rich, the diabolically crazed Insana-Bug, the mollusk mutant Squidy, the arch-villain Dr. Bolt, and the fearsome chicken and turkey meat by-product Chicken/Turkey.

Six years after the last Rubber Man comic was created, NQH was made incorporating all four of the seperate comics as one world, despite many conflictions. Along the way, several characters who never had the chance to appear in any comics were introduced finally, including Mayo Guy, Schizo-Man-7, Headless Joe, and Beany Joe.

Stories lines range from the odd to the insane, including hanging out at a diner, combating an undead and naked monk, twarting the highest form of life, ruining the plans of a diabolical cherry, annual Trick-or-Treating, attending a local flea market, and fighting against the scourge of Anime infesting pop culture.

On April 3rd, 2006, the comic reached its monumental 500th strip.
