Of Something and Nothing in Particular is a comic about two rather nerdy teenage girls, Kim and Monica, and their odd adventures as they progress through teenage life. They are accompanied by Helk, a magical (and deadly) being of ice, and occasionally a hedgehog.

She is best friends with Monica and has some sort of control over Helk. She also likes to draw.
Monica	14-ish	Human	Blonde hair, green eyes, jeans, and a blue shirt (with a dragon protrait on the front).	Kim's best friend, yet even more foolish and random. She is perhaps the reason Kim passes her classes. She also loves to write, and is often the voice of reason. She has a slightly bitter dislike of Helk.
Helk	unspecified	Some sort of Ice being.	Rust colored hair, black eyes, brown trenchcoat, and a black ninja outfit.	Helk is a very tempermental assassin, and thus very dangerous. However, Kim has (nearly) complete control over him, for some reason. He is sort of Kim and Monica's guardian, though he lacks all parenting skills. He also dislikes the heat.
Blue	unspecified	Hedgehog	large, pokey and blue.	Blue only occasionally appears in the comic, but he seems to have the most moral of values. He can talk, but tends not to.
