Plot
When the guys lose their house in a poker game a twist of fate leads them to move into apartments above Lisa's comic book store.
Volume One - The Daily Life
The first year of Sh!t Happens focuses on introducing the main characters and the world they live in.
Chapter One - Not Yet a Story V01Ch01
While not actually telling a story, this chapter introduces the guys and gives a quick insight to their personalities:
Max's inventiveness, Roy's love of gamling and Rick's utter pathetic-ness are all introduced in this chapter.
Chapter Two - The Night it All Began V01Ch02
After staring with a false scare this chapter features the fateful poker game that leads to Rick losing their house on a four card straight.
Max's tendancy for explosions is introduced in this chapter.
Chapter Three - The New Place V01Ch03
Annoyed by failed attempts to find a new place, Max goes to his favourite comic store where Lisa and Sammi are discussing the need for new tenants in the building.
The guys move into two apartments in the building and get to know the other tenants - Lisa the tough comic store owner, Sammi the highschool girl, Vanessa the perki-goth and Kim the bimbo.
Max and Sammi's mutual attraction and Ben and Rick's rivalry are introduced in this chapter.
Chapter Four - Rivals and Robots V01Ch04
Insulted by a classmate, Sammi decides to enter the school Robot Rumble contest and enlists Max's expertise to help build it.
Meanwhile Roy gets on the wrong side of his supervisor at work. In a twist of fate the group get invited to Kyle's nightclub opening where Max save's Sammi from the lecherous advances of Kyle.
Mr BFM, the can opener and the May siblings are introduced in this chapter.
Chapter Five - Holi-Daze V01Ch05
Roy is fired, Sammi has finished exams and everybody else is bored so they take some time out to relax at Max's Uncle Henry's lakehouse.
Max and Sammi try to enjoy some alone time while Roy's guests keep disappearing and Roy gains a new pet after getting lost in the wilderness looking for somewhere to pee.
Lakey the Baby Crimple is introduced in this chapter.
Chapter Six - House Hunting V01Ch06
The gang return home to find their building destroyed and themselves out on the street. After several days of living in the park Max finds the perfect new place for his friends to live.
The infamous Brick Lightning strip occurs in this chapter
Chapter Seven - A Night at the Sekiria V01Ch07
Roy's favourite band the Rabid Squirelles are playing at Sekiria but the guys don't have tickets. With Max's help Roy tries to sneak into the club.
One of the more adult incidents of intimacy interruption happens this chapter.
Chapter Eight - Living Conditions V01Ch08
Two days in the life of the Brick Lightning group. Sammi sits her final highschool exams, Max investigates the ruins of their old building and Roy gets a girlfriend when punk chick Claudia rents out the empty store.
The underground hot spring is created by Max in this chapter.

The second year of Sh!t Happens.
Chapter One - Mysterious Girl V02Ch01
Max hunts down the girl responsible for blowing up their old home in the tunnels beneath the city and chases her to the ruins of the old building where a monster Bioroid attacks. In the aftermath Max learns of a dark future that he quickly forgets about it under the lure of Sammi's new bikini.
Dana's identity is revealed in this chapter.
Chapter Two - Zephyrfest '09 V02Ch02
The group spend a week on the Gold Coast just chilling with their friend Rico. True to the nature of holidays many wacky things happen including injuries, rain, nightclub fights, Lesbian revelations and an unexpected kiss between two friends.
Vanessa's and Karen's relationship is revealed in this chapter.
Chapter Three - Those Triangle Things V02Ch03
Sammi starts art school, Roy starts his new job and Max brings his daughter home. But the happy beginnings are complicated by a budding love triangle between Lisa, Roy and Claudia and a misunderstanding on Sammi's part.
Lisa leaves and Professor Lang and the new Bioroids are introduced in this chapter.
Chapter Four - Catch-Up Game V02Ch04
Six months have passed since Lisa left Brick Lightning. The group gets together for a poker night to catch up.
Max is straining under the pressure of running the comic store while Lisa travels around Europe, Dana has been enrolled in school and has made friends, Ben and Kim have gotten engaged and an unknown incident has Rick on the bad-side of Max.

History
Sh!t Happens began life as an aborted short film project by creator Rob O'Brien, originally intended for a contest. When the deadline was missed the project was discarded until his mate Sheppo convinced him to do a comic. The first version of Sh!t Happens (a crudely drawn pencil version) was hosted on blogger.
