Jessica Hale aka Shea

Shea is the brains of the operation. Shy was originally her concept, though it began as an oekaki joke. She is best at laying out the composition of the comic pages, writing dialogue, male anatomy, and homosexual innuendo.

Cara Priebe aka Luminance

Lumi is the ambition and resident art-nazi. She managed to jump aboard Shy before it became a bandwagon and pushed it out of "oekaki joke" and into "epic webcomic." Most of her skills involve inking, toning, ranting about anatomy, and jingling bells for fifteen straight minutes to make sure she has the proper sound effect.

Ben aka Ben

Ben gets a mention for being Supreme Ultra Beta Reader 2000 XL Plus. He made the new site and helps Lumi update because she still can't figure out FTP. He's also been called "wikipedia with legs" by Shea, if she or Lumi can't figure something out, they go to Ben.

Due to some unfortunate circumstances Ben has more or less been fired from the position as Ben. For now our replacement Ben is Lumi's roommate, Tom. Tom specializes in sneaking shyguys into otherwise normal D&D campaigns and making up disaster theories full of spoilers and awesome.

Nori


Name: Nori of Hyras
Age: 27
Race: Masked
Class: Bandit

Nori was born to a family of flyguys, and is the first in her line to possess bandit magic. She was permitted to bypass the green glove class entirely when she came of age and was given a bandit mask, making her family incredibly proud of her. She met Kisho the day of the binding ceremony, and idol-worships him somewhat. On a shopping trip in Amamura, she met Satoru-- a local working in a charm shop. Through him, she was introduced to his best friend, Kaito.




Kisho


Name: Kisho of Hyras
Age: 48
Race: Masked
Class: Bandit

Kisho is a Lord of the village Hyras. He was born into a family of zeus guys, but chose at his coming-of-age to take a bandit mask. He and Nori are in the same raiding party, and are pretty good friends, but Kisho's arrogant nature keeps a lot of people from getting too close to him.




Kaito


Name: Kaito of Celestheria
Age: 34
Race: Masked
Class: Shyguy

Kaito is very intelligent for his race and class, but a bit too reserved for it to do him much good. Even when Kai might be the most qualified for a task, he will alllow the higher-ranking Kisho handle it instead. While on the surface he appears calm, and even somewhat shy, Kaito has a wicked and destructive streak in him. However, he finds it easy to keep his bloodlust in check when his sister is around. Kaito's best (and seemingly, only) friend is Satoru. He met Nori through Satoru, and the world through Nori.



Satoru


Name: Satoru of Amamura
Age: 36
Race: Masked
Class: Shyguy

Satoru works at a charm shop in Amamura, which is run by an old healer (or witch, if you believe rumours) named Emi. Nori goes to the shop often and Satoru got to know her through her regular business there. Kaito and Satoru met around six years ago, and quickly became best friends. Even though Satoru works the majority of daylight hours, Kaito will lounge around the shop all day long without buying anything, so they can spend their time together after the workday is over.




Kano


Name: Kano of Celestheria
Age: 20
Race: Masked
Class: Shyguy

Kano is Kaito's younger (and only) sister. Despite their age difference, they bear a strong resemblance to each other, appearance-wise. Kano is barely old enough to have her mask, and Kaito was shocked that she would be old enough to be sent to Yoshi's Island along with the rest of the Masked forces. Kano left her unit and quickly sought out her brother to help him. While she isn't much use in battle, Kano is probably one of the more naturally intelligent members of the party.




Umeko


Name: Umeko
Age: 66
Race: Koopa
Class: Mage

Sharp, cunning, and dignified. She knows exactly how to talk to people to get what she wants, whether that means threatening, flattering, or lying to them. She is high koopa nobility, making her place in the hierarchy above most people she knows, but she doesn't see the point of acting condescending to them, so long as they treat her with the proper respect. Ume met Nori when Nori was a young child and Ume had just finished her Magikoopa apprenticeship. Though it's rather uncommon for koopas to have Masked people as friends and visa versa, Umeko had never met anyone quite like Nori, so she kept in touch.



Plot

Prelude: Of The Masked and The Maskless

The prelude comic is meant to introduce the audience to the world of Shy and the shyguy race. Though it's still in progress, we'll get a look at a child's view of their world, and then an adult's take on the same.
