Plot

The current story of Spiff Central follows the characters Jaden and Louis through their trials and tribulations of being "unstuck" in the time-space continuum. While experimenting with his new Time Sled Mark V he developed, Jaden traveled through time but, relatively speaking, appeared back to the "current" time without a beat, much to the amusement of Louis. While cleaning up, and being harrased by Louis, Jaden was contacted by his computer that an S-5 Alert had been activated. Responding, Louis and Jaden wander in a park, where it is revealed that an S-5 alert is the highest class of an alert signifying a disruption to the space-time continuum. Despite Louis speculating that a butterfly was the anomaly, it turned out to be a freakin' dinosaur.

When readying for battle, a mystery woman appeared, raising the stakes.

Characters

Major characters

Character Age Appearance Bio/description Space-Time Status First appearance
Jaden 30 http://www.humboldt.edu/~ja21/images/jaden.jpg A space marine stuck in the past of his world. Jaden has a doctorate in Quantum Engineering and utilizes this knowledge to the best of his ability in a relatively technological primitive world. Jaden's most distinguishing features are his size, a large gash on the right side of his face that spans over that eye, the discoloration of that eye, and a robotic arm. Currently stuck in the past of his native planet January 31, 2007
Louis 23 http://www.humboldt.edu/~ja21/images/louis.jpg A sorcerer from another dimension stuck on Earth. His culture believes that nature is the source of their magical prowess and reveres it. This has vastly stifled urbanization. In a new, unfamiliar world, Louis approaches cities and advancement with intense curiosity. Louis' most distinguishing feature is his apparently naturally occuring green hair. Currently stuck in a non-native dimension January 31, 2007
Mystery Girl  ?? http://www.humboldt.edu/~ja21/images/maggie.jpg A female bystander that happened to see the freakin' dinosaur as Louis and Jaden were readying for battle against it. It is probably safe to assume she is on her native time and space February 28, 2007

Background & References

  • Jaden and Louis are roughly based off of the physical characteristics of the artist (John T. Carter) and his friend, Louis Wilson.
  • The February 7, 2007 strip makes a reference to Spaceballs when Jaden tells computer that they're communicating over an "unlisted wall."
  • The February 21, 2007 strip makes a Firefly reference when he utters the swear "gorramit."
