About the author
Victoria Easley is the author and illustrator of SuperNeil. Her first webcomic was College Bound, a collaboration with Jon Voisey. Victoria is working on her BA in Photography at Missouri State University, and she works with the school's Photographic Services department.
Setting
The comic takes place in an unspecified city (although it could be Gotham City or near Gotham, as Batman made an appearance in the first strip). Neil and Isaac live in an apartment building and work in a bookstore with Audrey and Kris.
Time frame
The comic give very little reference to real time. The strips occur in "arcs" in which several comics take place over one day.
Cast
- Neil Bendis is the hero of the strip. As a boy, he became an avid comic book reader and was determined to be a superhero as an adult. Now in his twenties, Neil still attempts to live out his dream, and he uses the persona of a mild-mannered bookstore employee as a cover for his true calling.
- Isaac Ross is Neil's roommate. He is more jaded than Neil; he does not condone Neil's theatrical attempts at saving the day. Isaac works at the coffee counter of the bookstore because he doesn't know what else he wants to do with his life.
- Audrey Steranko is the girl Neil has a crush on. She is mellow, but she can give as good as she gets. Audrey is five-foot-eleven, and she aspires to be a model because of her height.
- Kris Coletta is a cashier at the bookstore. She is also a college student studying English. Kris prefers partying and going out with friends over work and responsibilities.
- The Shadowy Figure is an enigma. He/she seems to be following Neil and Isaac. His/her face has yet to be shown.
Running Gags
- The characters share their last names with comic book artists. Neil Bendis is named for Brian Michael Bendis, Isaac Ross is named for Alex Ross, and Audrey Steranko is named for James Steranko.
