Tales from the City is a five-part webcomic centered around two siblings, Aspen and Burdock Catmint, and takes place in the grand city of Eudaimonia. They are both members of the city's elite defense squad, the Wings Division, and work to uphold the law and keep civility within the city. They both grew up spoiled into their ego-centric culture and to believe that their race, the Gryphonese, was the highest and most powerful race ever to walk (or fly) the planes.

But when they come across situations that challenge their pride, they're forced to choose between what is morally right and what is lawfully expected. And their choices may forever change their outlook on their heritage, their laws, and their paradigms.

Characters

Main characters

Aspen Catmint: Aspen is the older and more brash sibling. She lives by the "fight now, ask questions later" philosophy. She has followed her family's heritage of serving as member of the Calvary Sanction in the Wings Division, in hopes to one day become the Remige (leader) of the santion like her father was. While she can still fight magnificently on foot, she performs best when mounted on her Wyllion, Freeman. She is loud, impatient, and strong-willed, while at the same time caring and protective. She feels compelled to watch over Burdock and act as his guardian, though whether she does it to be sisterly or to just annoy him is unknown.

Burdock Catmint: Taking after his mother, Burdock is an archanist (a type of mage), and a powerful one at that. Humble and soft-spoken, he spends most of his time reading and researching and will only turn to fight if necessary. While this doesn't sound like a typical member of the Wings Division, his ability to summon forth spells with accuracy and speed is, quite simply, amazing. While he loves his sister dearly, he at times wishes she would take the time to understand him more rather than just act as his shield.

Minor characters

Romaine Roma, aka Lady of the Blade: Romaine Roma is the charismatic, fearless leader (Remige) of the the Swordsmanship Sanction in the Wings Division. While not actively involved with Aspen or Burdock's training, their families have been close friends for generations. She has watched the two grow up and become strong members of the Wings Division.

Oni Gurumi, aka Lord of the Wyllions: Oni Gurumi is the Remige of the Calvary Sanction in the Wings Division. A bit cold-hearted and blunt, he gets straight to the point and doesn't waste a breath when talking. He is personally overseeing Aspen's training and making sure that she will become the next Remige when he retires. On a side note, Oni's family owns the ranch where most of the Wyllions in the Wings are born and raised, including Freeman.

Lanatus Sorghum: Lanatus is an archer in the Wings Division and has a slight crush on Aspen. His older brother, Nafal, is the Remige of the Archery Sanction in the Wings Division.
