"Tasha's World" is a webcomic that started on Keenspace (now called Comic Genesis) in July of 2002, written and drawn by Rhea Halter. The first story arc opened September 1, 2002, introducing the core group of characters. After two years of sporadic updates, the comic went on hiatus.

"Tasha's World" was "rebooted" in January of 2005, with the original archives removed from Keenspace, and updated daily until the beginning of April. TW once again went on hiatus, this time for over a year. As of May 2006, the artist returned, taking up the story from the point at which it would have been if there had been no interruption. The comic went on hiatus again, but is once again updating -- this time, filling in the missing strips after the original, complete storylines. Current strips are a montage of important events up to the first hiatus.

Quick Summary

Tasha O'Connell, owner and manager of "Tasha's World" (a so-called "New Age" store), is a witch who lives with her cat, Winston. Her closest friends, Stephanie Macmillan and Adam Steele, live in the apartment across the hall from Tasha's apartment. Her only employee is Roger Murphy, a self-proclaimed "slacker Goth." Tasha's ex-girlfriend, Barbara Carter, used to work with Tasha, but now works for a competitor known as "Madame Ruth." Shortly before the first hiatus, it was revealed that Stephanie is a pre-operative male-to-female transsexual. Sometime later (after the first hiatus), Roger met Jenny Everywhere (an "open-source" comic character who travels between different comic worlds), and revealed that this is actually their third meeting.

A (fictional) small town located in south central Texas, approximately 35 miles northwest of San Antonio. The setting for the "Tasha's World comic.

Tasha's World

Tasha's shop, where she sells various "New Age"-related merchandise, including books, magick supplies (such as candles, incense and essential oils) and even spells.

Tasha's apartment

Tasha and Winston live here. Tasha, Adam, Steph, Roger and Barb meet here Sunday evenings to play Dungeons & Dragons.

Adam's apartment

Adam lives here. The floor plan of Adam's apartment is a mirror image of the floor plan to Tasha's apartment. Stephanie moved in after an argument with her parents.

Apollo's

A national coffeehouse chain. Tasha and her friends regularly meet at Apollo's for lunch.
