Plot

The comic follows the misadventures of Space Devil, an eccentric space pirate. Space Devil uses his amazing skills and dumb luck to remain one of the most infamous pirates in the galaxy, as well as narrowly dodge multiple attempts to kill or capture him by his numerous enemies.

Chapters

Season 1 : 1 - 124
The comic opens up. Space Devil has several unrealted adventures, including stealing Pepsi, meeting a ninja wanderer named Jeff, and going to an abandoned space colony to steal a secret weapon that's already missing. Most of the season is taken by Space Devil's encounter with an old nemesis of his, Enigma, a malevolent researcher who resides in a sort of cyber-world, which he has complete control over.

Season 2 : 125 - Current
Season 2, the part of the comic actually worth reading. A new, original art style, as well as the story being mostly written by just me. Space Devil's crew increases in size as he un-freezes an amnesiac martial artist named Teman, and then encounters an odd group of androids which he fights off with the help of a girl named Merle, who also joins with him. Between being attacked and trying to find out who created the androids, how's Space Devil supposed to get any rest?

Characters

Major characters

Character Age Appearance Bio/description
Space Devil 24 Image:SpaceDevil.PNG Space Devil is egotistical, narcicistic, arrogant, and an all-around jerk; or he at least pretends to be. It's unknown how many of his less than admirable traits are just a facade to keep other people from bothering him, as well as keep up the image of a cruel and heartless Space Pirate. Space Devil is entirely out for himself, and he'll only associate with other people if it's relevant to his own interests. The only person who seems to tolerate him is Larry.

Space Devil appears to have a mild form of dementia - he oftentimes makes references to real life as if it were a web comic, making references to 'advancing the plot' and 'breaking the fourth wall', as well as acknowledging outstanding anachronisms. He is the only character to do this.

Larry 24 Image:LarrySD.PNG Larry is completely and utterly indifferent. He speaks in constant monotone and rarely ever shows any sort of emotion. This is usually good, because anybody who isn't completely indifferent would find working with Space Devil to be a maddening impossibility. Larry does show some emotional traits on occasion, usually exasperation at Space Devil's exuberance.
Jeff 17 Image:JeffSD.PNG Jeff is a complete foil to Space Devil in almost every way imaginable. Contrasting to Space Devil's exuberant behavior and lack of common sense, Jeff is at the opposite end of the spectrum, being chronically calm and collected. Jeff is usually the first one to notice a minute detail that can be used advantageously. On the other hand, Jeff is kind of hard to get along with. He doesn't have much of a sense of humor and idle chitchat is utterly impossible. When not doing anything with an express purpose, he can usually be found sitting in utter solitude.
Teman Unknown exactly. 17? Image:TemanSD.PNG Teman is by far the most tragic character of all. He's meek and insecure, and is prone to hiding in dangerous situations. This is probably due to the fact that he has amnesia and has no memory of his past other than his name and his martial arts discipline, or more likely due to the fact that Space Devil always picks on him.
Merle asdf Image:MerleSD.PNG Merle is a young, spunky girl from the planet Emi. She's very energetic and strong-willed, and is unafraid to say or do whatever crosses her mind. While she does live with three guys, she's well equipped for the task by having no inhibitions as to injuring anybody who mistreats her in any way. However, underneath the tough exterior, Merle is a kind, gentle person.

Other characters

Character Appearance Bio/description
Space Police officer Luke Trenton Image:SDLukeTrenton.GIF Is tasked with the exasperating and frustratingly impossible mission of apprehending Space Devil. He hates Space Devil, but not quite as much as he hates having to capture him.
Godhand Image:SDGodhand.GIF A bounty hunter with a small army's worth of weapons in his arm. He aims to collect the ridiculously large bounty on Space Devil's head, and will go through any possible measures to do so.
Prof. Terios and the Androids Image:SDTerios.GIF A mysterious robotics professor and his amazingly lifelike androids. His robots can think entirely on their own. He apparently seeks to overhaul society itself.
Enigma Image:SDEnigma.GIF A corrupt researcher who holds immense power in his own personal cyberworld. Aspired to assimilate the entire universe into his control. Was killed by Space Devil.
Cosmic Angel and Harry Image:SDCAHarry.GIF A former follower of Enigma and Larry's condescending brother. Enigma's answer to Space Devil. Not a very good answer, seeing as how nobody likes them.

Background

Space Devil started out as an odd side project between me and Jarad, an online friend. We collaborated on designing all the characters, and we even went back and forth making the comics themselves. (I started the first comic and we went back and forth from there. I think a comic is randomly missing, so it switches at some point, but whatever.) It eventually grew to be our best work. However, eventually Jarad lost interest, so I just make it all myself now. It enjoys a comfortable fanbase of roughly 4.

If you are jsut starting reading Space Devil, it's reccomended you start from Season 2.
