The Mary Comic is an urban fantasy comic strip drawn by Jing and co-written by Dave (a.k.a. Jamtrousers). It is primarily a gag-based strip, typically in three panels, and has fluctuating levels of shading, colour and backgrounds. The main focus of the strip is the endless series of conflicts between Mary and Jo, two tertiary students sharing a house in a fictional city.
While never explicitly stated in the strip, The Mary Comic takes place in a 'lite' version of the sci-fi/fantasy universe of Jing's graphic novel Living in the Last Sane City on Earth and contains several cross-over characters and locations.

Plot
The plot of The Mary Comic is fairly straightforward, but is confused somewhat by the inclusion of random filler comics and guest strips. The sequence of strips opens with a Christmas special, but the actual comic itself does not begin until strip eight.
| Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. |
Christmas Special: "A Very Mary Christmas" #1 - #7
Kate and Tim discuss the meaning of Christmas, and it all ends in a Nativity with Mary as Mary, Jo as Joseph, Kate as a narrative Angel, Tim as The Innkeeper/King Herod, and Lenny as A Wise King. Mary gives birth to a bouncing baby pillow and Lenny looks Fabulous.
In the Beginning 1+1=argh! - But They Taste Like Soap
When Jo's girlfriend kicks him out he shows up on Mary's doorstep and assumes she'll let him stay. There are Issues on both sides, including: why there is suddenly no furniture [1]; what to do about the mouse [2]; and whether or not one needs a reason to be a ninja [3].
The Psycho Psychic Fair PF#1 - PF#14
Mary takes Jo to the Psyshic Fair. They become seperated and Jo has a merry adventure tormenting the natives. There is a salami [4].
And So It Goes Happy Birthday - Please Keep Off the Hydrangeas
More of the usual.
Insert Name Here INH#1 - INH#10
Mary's life is ruined when Jo brings home a girl she can't stand. Obligatory breaking of the fourth wall ensues [5]. Kate isn't very good at being supportive [6], Lenny isn't wearing any pants [7], and Mary gets a pig thrown at her head [8].
Seasonal Greeting of Choice SGoC#1 - SGoC#8
A series of Christmas cards starring Winnie, the girl who lives up the road, and Andrew, her long-suffering older brother and guardian. Not a lot to do with The Mary Comic at all.
Back to the Grind Of course not! - Hello, Frank
More of the usual, punctuated with fillers.
Demon Demon#1 (ongoing)
Inh does something silly with magic, and sends Mary tumbling off into the magical aether [9]. Mary ends up in Tim's summoning circle[10] avec horns and a tail [11]. When she finally makes her way home she goes to give Inh a piece of her mind only to find that Inh has torn a hole in the fabric of reality [12]. With her new demon powers, Mary turns Inh into a toaster [13].
What happens next is a mystery.
