Thunder and Lightning follows the adventures of Raamah Quesymir, a young mage who accidentally bound the werewolf Barak Velox to him as his familiar during a full moon. With no way of undoing the spell, the two reluctant companions are forced to come to terms with their situation, and make their way in a world at war.

Plot

On the world of Cheled, two of the major countries were perpetually at war. The southern forests of Solum, and the nothern deserts of Sei battled continuously for land and power, with Sei growing gradually weaker over time. It seemed Solum would finally win the war, until a man from Sei named Tzadik Kessem made a journey to the center of the world to appeal to the Gods for a power to save his people, and bring about a lasting end to the war. The Gods agreed, granting him a gift known as the Legacy Stone, that bestowed Tzadik with the power of magic. He used his new power to bring peace to the two enemy countries, and then opened a magical academy in Sei to share his knowledge of the magical arts. Students from all countries were welcomed and taught, until Tzadik, now known as the First Mage, disappeared. The old enemies could not let their old hatred lie, and now with nothing to prevent it, the war started again. In the current age, the war continues on, with mages now in both countries. Children with the potential to use magic are sent to academies in their native country to be trained as new tools in the war effort, or to become ranking officials. The main story focuses on the young mage Raamah Quesymir, who, in order to attain the rank of Journeyman Mage, needed to bind an animal to him as a familiar. A talented, but often cocky fellow, Raamah determined he would only bind a powerful animal. When he found a white wolf in the forest, it seemed to good to be true... And so it was. The wolf was, in fact, a werewolf named Barak Velox, and none too happy to suddenly be bound to a human. The two will need to learn to reconcile their differences, in order to survive. Raamah Quesymir	17	Image:Image:Raamahhead.png	Born during a massive storm that subsided immediately upon his birth, it was clear from the beginning that Raamah had connections with the weather. He is a Storm Mage, one of the rarest and most destructive classes of magic users. Storms boost his power, and what’s more, always seem to form independent of him whenever he needs them most. However, though he is strong, he’s overly proud and often will get in over his head, believing he can do more than he actually is capable of. He has rather poor social skills, and, hence, often finds himself an outcast. Still, he is fiercely determined to get stronger, in part because magic is one of the few things he feels he has. Insofar as family goes, he never knew his father, but is very close to his mother and older brother. He has been living at the Oron Academy of Magic since he was a young child.
Barak Velox	65 (16 by human standards)	Image:Image:Barakhead.png	Barak is the werewolf that Raamah accidently bonded during a full moon. As with all werewolves, he must remain in his wolf form during the full moon, though he can shift at will during any other time. He is resentful and angry at being bound by the human, and not at all open about his past or who he is. He particularly begrudges Raamah for binding him and actively works against his wishes.

Languages

Each country has a different language. (Sei, Solumian, Qhuchit and even the werewolves’ mysterious Lunelines.) The language they are speaking is viewable below their words. (Hence the faded letters under the normal text.) However, they will always think, and say names in their native tongue, even if they know others. Think of it as speaking with an accent.
