History: Originally written to be lame short comic for a school project. NJ ended up liking it enough to keep it going online, though it's still lame. Intended to be set in comic book format. Just like NJ's other comic, Emergency Exit UF has had two runs. The first 23 pages were in colour and poorly planned out story-wise. NJ took a few months to develop the story before starting it again as a BW comic book.

Schedule and Format: The comic itself updates on the 1st of every month with however many pages I get done throughout the month. An average of around 15-20 new pages is to be expected. The comic is always in BW except for Title Pages and Extra Comics, which are in colour. Coloured artwork and coloured panels are displayed in the Gallery .

UF has been successfully updating ever month with around 150 pages made. Also being written in a novel series format not up for public view yet.

Story Background: Ghosts connect themselves to a certain person, and with that person can perform Reversing, which results in supernatural powers given to both, a solid form to the ghost and a zombie form to the human. They use these forms to participate in fights over haunting territory and to protect ghosts from ghost hunting Spiritualists. The world is set up under two gods, Life and Death, and most belief systems are based on the importance of balance between the two. Currently something is wrong with the system in order for ghosts and zombies to exist.

Story Focus: It follows the story of Orrick and how his life has been greatly altered since he agreed to be the ghost girl Mahalah's friend. At the time she didn't mention being her friend involved becoming a zombie and fighting other Undeads. However he is adapting, as is his other friends. Undead Friend is actually not a fight-based comic, if it’s none-stop action you want, UF is probably not for you. Its primary focus is on the characters and their development, and as time goes on the Undead Conspiracy. However much fun in fighting and gore is to be had.

         Age: 16
 
         Short Bio: Friendly, affectionate and very supportive
         and always loving to help others. A great friend to have, though
         an extreme bookworm. Orrick is part of the "outsider" crowd at his
         public high school Geneon with his friends Darwin and Haley. He has
         some insecurity issues, especially gets made of fun for his hair.
         Orrick was having an anti-social problem at the beginning of his
         Sophomore year, and was mostly drawn to the abandon basement under
         his school. Turns out to be because the ghost girl Mahalah was trying
         to make contact with him. The two are now connected, and Orrick has
         agreed to participate in Undead fights in order to protect Mahalah
         from any possible threats like Ghost Hunters. The two are very close,
         even if being connected requires Reversing which results in Orrick
         turning into a zombie. Orrick lives at home with his parents Oswald
         and Keita. He has a four-year older brother, Quennell who is a
         college student currently.

       Age (at death): 16

       Short Bio: Energetic, playful and easily gets carried away.
       Sometimes acts a little immature, tries to do good but is a little
       naive. She has been haunting Orrick's school for a long time, nobody knows
       how long exactly. She took a extreme liking to Orrick and chose him to be
       the one she made contact with. Because she got overexcited she took Wylie's
       challenge without any prior knowledge, she had no idea what trouble she
       was getting into. However a unidentified ghost had apparently taught her
       enough to get by in a small game played in place of a match. Now she
       lives with Orrick, and tends to cause trouble for him more than she'd like.
       She is also extremely cute.

       Age: 17

       Short Bio: An extremely smart student and skillful Undead with
       a bad attitude towards...everything. No-nonsense, cynical and anti-social.
       His ghost partner, Brigger, is the exact opposite of him. The story behind
      their contact is unknown.  Orrick and Mahalah have been the first people he's
      actually taken it easy on and not only let them get away with playing a game
      in place of a fight, but also let them win. He and Brigger now train Orrick and
      Mahalah as their students in the ways of the Undead. He slowly finds himself
      forced into being involved in Orrick's life more and more, risking exposure
      to his mysterious past. He smokes, drinks and is almost always wearing his
      sunglasses in some way. A Junior at Worthington Academy for Boys where his
      nickname (which he despises) is Coyote.

       Age (at death) 22

       Short Bio: A Socially Aggressive, selfish and often just obnoxious ghost.
        A real player, loves to flirt and tease, especially with Mahalah. He is
        connected with Wylie, whom he apparently annoys allot. Brigger
       refused to back out of the first fight with Mahalah and Orrick, but has
        happily agreed to assist in mentoring them both, and to tease them both.
       He's fairly powerful with many haunting territories. Like Mahalah he
       also acts very immature sometimes, but actually is more intelligent
       then he lets people think.

       Age: 16
 
       Short Bio: Very outgoing, overpowering and possibly insane.
       She is a close friend of Orrick and Darwin's, tries her best to
       be friendly but is prone to accidental violence. She has declared herself
      Darwin's Bodyguard and Orrick's Stalker. Mostly hangs around Darwin.
       She can't see ghosts, though she might not admit it.

       Age: 16

       Short Bio: Easy-going, quite and nonchalant. Very observant and smart,
        though not so much when it comes to school. Finds schoolwork boring
       and therefore tends to neglect it even though he could do it.
       He is very caring and a little over-protective of his friends.
       Almost always seen with some form of noodles, mainly ramen, and often wears
       the same trench coat. Has the ability to see ghosts, amongst other things.
