Waist High centers around the adventures of first grader Josephine Baker, who's stuck in a private catholic school she doesn't want to be in. Her friends Neil, Iris, Jeff, Stephanie, Ashley, Chris(tine) ,and her sister Naomi, Josie tries to cope with all the issues of home, religion, and school though signs of ill will toward all of these institutions are already beginning to surface.

Waist High has already been through numerous changes. Originally the characters simply wasted away their days in a playground.

There were other characters then, Mandy, Monica, and David, who all had to be cut for various different reasons.

The artist originally intended for the comic to be a whimsical story about her and her college friends as kids.

However, finding that she enjoyed drawing comics, and wanting to be taken seriously, the artist drastically changed the nature of the strip.

The characters, while still sharing names and likenesses of peole in her life have become entities all their own, even her own self titled charactered.

Though rated G, Waist High does tackle issue of alternative sexualities, and is critical of religion. Should this offend you, Waist High probably isn't for you.
