Misc World Resources and Author Notes
A few interesting things came up, so this section will clarify stuff that isn't so obvious.
- The word 'taan': Someone confused the Mauo'Riy word taan with an honorific, such as sir, or sama. Taan is simply an ending to differentiate between names, and is only used for a House name, such as Raeux, Laqdanna, dR'Naer, Teqra, etc. It simply means that one is being called by their House name and not their given name.
- Iz-Raeux-taan: 'the Woman of the House of Raeux' a title for House Matriarch.
- Sweating: The Riy, they do not sweat. But they have sweatdrops. Why? because I like them. :) (and I did it without thinking and was too lazy to change it)
- Doors (or the lack thereof): The House of Raeux is that of a traditional Matriarchal water clan (ocean). The only door that they should have is at the threshold of the main building; so cloth or tapestries are hung in the doorways..
- the 'extended fight scene': I have a strange feeling that no one bothered to look at Raeux. I have over 150 pages and there is, as of chapter 8 (finished mockup and layout next 22 pages) nothing that would even suggest that there would be any fighting whatsoever. In the next 5-10 chapters there might be 2 spats, one between Aerra and Adra's sister, and the other with other people not yet decided on. So Raeux isn't a shonen constant fight manga. In fact, they're just talking. And eating.
'Discerning web comic readers' give me a break.
