The Wiki system depends upon user input to expand its articles listing. Users can create new pages one of two different ways.
Creating through links
In some cases when you're reading through an article, you'll come across links which are red in color, like so: "A popular subject being Purple Monkey Dishwashers" (please do not edit this page so that it exists). This means that they link to a page which currently does not exist in the wiki.
To edit a page like this, simply click on the link and you will be taken to the editing page. Edit the page appropriately, click the "Save page" button, and voilá, the page now exists. All links referencing this page have now become blue as a result.
Creating through URLs
If you would like to create a new page which has no link in any existing articles, all you have to do is enter the desired URL into your address bar. If, for example, you wished to create a wiki page about fiddler crabs, you'd type into your address bar http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.php/Fiddler_crabs . Once at the page, click on the edit link at the top of the page and enter your information.
Note in the Wiki system that underscores (_) in addresses stand for spaces. You can just as easily enter in http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.php/Fiddler crabs in the address bar, but note that the URL will change to Fiddler_Crabs automatically.
Take care when naming new pages, though, because past the first letter of the page name the Wiki URLs are case sensitive!
These would be three separate pages:

Namespaces
The wiki uses several namespaces which are helpful to know in creating pages.
- The main namespace is for articles and has no prefix. The article name comes directly after the slash at the end of the URL **http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.php/Ponies .
- The Category namespace is for categories.
- http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.php/Category:Comics
- Information about creating/editing categories.
- The Help namespace is for articles about how to use the wiki.
- The Template namespace is for templates which can be used in any article.

- Information on creating templates.
- The Image namespace is for images. The page for the image is created automatically when it's uploaded.

- Information about uploading images.
- The Special namespace lists special pages which are useful to users of the wiki. The link is on the left under the search bar and pages include the admin list, a link to all pages, and so on.
- The User namespace is prefixed by User: and is for people with editing access to the wiki. This means your forum account name if you have one.
- The Author namespace is prefixed by Author: and is used for authors of comics. If there is an instance of the Author's name being the same as his or her User name or if the Author has a User account, it is sometimes better for one to redirect to the other.

- http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.php/Author:R. L. Peterson redirects to User:The_Neko. R. L. Peterson is the author's real name and The Neko is his User name.
- The Comic namespace is for articles strictly about comics.
- The WikiJam namespace is used only for forum jams from Comic Genesis.
