Plot

Toxic and Teammayhem are accidentally transported into a mirror universe after Rkolter attempts to test his teleporter. They soon discover that in the alternate universe, the friendly Comic Genesis has no longer exists, instead there is the militant webcomic service known as the Comic Genesis Empire, determined to conquer the the entire internet. After being spotted by Col, Toxic and Team take refuge with Yeahduff. Yeahduff soon briefs them on the mirror universe:

Mirror universe timeline

2000
Comic Genesis is founded as a free webcomic service. Strredwolf is its ruler until 2004.
2004
Strredwolf kills himself for no apparent reason. Soon Mercury Hat takes control and transforms Comic Genesis into an empire bent on conquest. She also declares herself Empress.
Mid-2004
The Comic Genesis Empire conquers Keenspot, winning its independence.
Early 2005
The Empire conquers Drunkduck and enslaves all of its members. CGers no longer have to draw their comics, as they have slaves to do it for them.

Soon the CG secret police break in and arrest Yeahduff, sending him off to be reeducated in the Help Center. Toxic and TM are instead brought to Mercury Hat. Mercury Hat reveals that she wants to find a way into the standard CG universe so she can conquer it, and offers Toxic and TM a large portion of her future territory in return for assistance. When she shows them the mirror universe prototype of the teleporter that has not been working, they discover that it was never plugged in. After Mercury Hat is about to use the device she reveals that she had no intention of keeping Toxic and Teammayhem alive, and orders them to be executed after she tests the teleporter. When she tests it, it is revealed that mirror Rkolter booby trapped the device to kill the first person who uses it, and Mercury Hat's internal organs are transported out of her body.

Toxic and TM then wander off to find Kisai, who is believed to have been kidnapped. While searching in Terotrous' home, they discover that Terotrous was the one who abducted her, and they he had her chained up in his basement. When the two try to rescue her, they are also captured by Terotrous.

Terotrous chains up Toxic and Temmayhem, and reveals to them that he is an insane killer and enjoys eating catgirls. Teammayhem soon thinks of a plan to escape. He gives oral sex to Toxic and uses Toxic's ejaculate as a projectile weapon to blind Terotrous, and Toxic trips him. The plan does not work, and Terotrous wakes up. Immediately CJ arrives and shoots Terotrous in the head. CJ then reveals that she is not there to rescue them, but to collect child support payments that Toxic's counterpart owes to Peppermint Afterlife.

After Kisai assumes the role of Empress of the Empire, it becomes clear that putting her there was a mistake. Instead of only wanting to conquer the rest the world like Mercury Hat, Kisai is determined to exterminate all life outside of the empire. Toxic and Teammayhem decide to leave, realizing that they have done more harm than helping.

When they return, they discover that mirror Toxic and mirror Teammayhem have been causing havoc, and have gone on a killing spree, murdering the authors of comics they dislike. When mirror Toxic confronts standard Toxic, he attempts to kill him, but McDuffies leaps in and takes a bullet for him. When mirror Toxic goes to get more weapons, standard Toxic vows to get revenge. Mirror Teammayhem ventures into the Comic Genesis national park, which contains high volcanic activity. After an ensuing struggle, mirror Teammayhem is knocked into a stream of lava.

Toxic and Teammayhem then search for mirror Toxic. Mirror Toxic goes to a nearby clothing store and buys new clothes so that he looks identical to standard Toxic. Mirror Toxic threatens to kill him, but then realizes that he has left his gun in the fitting room. Yeahduff tries to find the gun's owner, but finds out about the situation. Mirror Toxic then attempts to confuse the two, and is killed by Yeahduff, who actually meant to kill standard Toxic.

Toxic and Teammayhem are then ambushed by faub, unaware of the situation, who places them under arrest for the murders commited by their mirror universe counterparts. Toxic attempts to explain the situation to faub, but he does not believe him. They spend the rest of their lives in the Comic Genesis maximum security prison.

Shameless Star Trek references

  • The entire concept of a mirror universe is taken from TOS episode "Mirror, Mirror", five episodes of DS9 and one two-parter of ENT.
  • Toxic and Teammayhem arrive to the mirror universe via a transporter malfunction, like in "Mirror, Mirror".
  • Maria and Michelle have goatees, like mirror Spock (TOS) has.
  • The Comic Genesis Empire logo is the same design as the Terran Empire logo, with a dagger running through it.
  • The CG Empire uniforms are of the same design as uniforms seen in Voyager episodes "Warlord" and "Counterpoint". Female clothing has a bare midriff as seen in TOS.
  • Mercury Hat is naked in a bath, much like mirror Kira in "Crossover" (DS9). Mercury Hat's faithful lover is the counterpart of Mr.Bob (the CG president). Mirror Kira's lover is mirror Sisko (the captain of DS9).
  • Terotrous is a shotgun-wielding shut-in who keeps the people he traps in his basement, also seen in the Voyager episode "Future's End, Part 2".
  • Mirror Kisai is determined to purge all life outside of her jurisdiction (much like speciers 8472 in the Voyager episode "Scorpion, Part II".
  • The Comic Genesis prime directive is the same as the Federation prime directive.
  • Toxic screams "KHAAAAN!" and then "TOXXXXIIIC!"...oh please, do I really need to point out where that's from?
  • The line "Your presence honors us" is from the DS9 episode "Tacking Into the Wind" (spoken from a Vorta to the female Changeling)
  • The climactic fight is taken from the end of Star Trek III when the Genesis planet tears itself apart (heh, Comic Genesis...Genesis Planet?), in addition to the line "I have had enough of you!"
  • The prison set is the same as the prison camp in the DS9 episode(s) "In Purgatory's Shadow"/"By Inferno's Light".
