Threads about pants

Occasionally a newbie will post a thread about pants, with some inane text like: "what do you think about pants?" they do it because:

1. They want to be accepted quickly, not realizing that being accepted takes time

2. They think it's funny

3. They are new so they don't realize that this has been done many times before

4. They lack subtlety

5. This kind of thread often spans to many pages; author of the thread sometimes interprets it as a sign of success of his social skills; it is, however, only a sign that forumers have too much time on their hands.

Other topics for this sort of thread can include food, sports, or the art of Julian Beever. This behavior was been termed "Zhongdaing" by RKolter in a January 2007 forum post[1] after forum user Zhongda. Zhongda was pleased.[2]
