Low Postcount Oldbie

BrownEyedCat is a forum denizen who has been around for a surprisingly long time, considering her low postcount.

• She was around before a series of forum glitches killed a number of forumite's accounts, turning Jaime to Evil Jaime, sending Nike through a dozen different names before DarkMagician, and turning herself from Catrine (Joined: 07 Aug 2002, Posts: 11, if the numbers weren't scrambled in a forum fix) to BrownEyedCat. Her signature still retains a reminder that she used to be 'Catrine', in case someone from that era wanders in and is confused.

• She participated in the CareBears Invasion Jam, drawing two pages but never being properly introduced as a character - a fact she is secretly bitter about, and reminds everyone of at every opportunity. She also reminds everyone that Heffa is still due to finish the next two pages of the jam.

• She has been around for about four years, and in that time has created only three or so threads.

• HAS NEVER BEEN KILLED BY WAR.

(Oh, COME ON! Murphy's law should've kicked in by now . . .)

• Occasionally turns into a cactus. Triggers for this have been wildly speculated upon, and include moonlight, full sunlight, arid soil, mere boredom, and the presence of Sincerely, who originally infected her with the random lycanthropy responsible for the change.

• Joined Claude's lackeys, first as an assistant gardener (unofficial), then as an assistant security guard (official), and eventually as a member of CLAsS (which is totally untrue, because the rumored shadowy assassin group CLAsS doesn't exist. Hah hah. Had you going there for a while, eh? . . . I said it, so would you please put the knife down?)
  • Her Security duties include assisting in the protection of Outrage, general guard duty, chastising the peach trees (?) and checking all incoming mail (with a mallet).

In truth, BEC is an old-fasioned lurker who has slowly been drawn into the light of day by the perverse insanity of the forums. She can usually be found hanging around General Discussion or Off Topic, and is attracted to ComicJams. Jam participation can be found here.

Comicry

BrownEyedCat's webcomic, Those Destined, premiered on Keenspace in July of 2002. During the massive site crash of January 2003, her entire website was irretrievably deleted. Happily, restoring it was no major difficulty.

In December of 2003, Those Destined left Keenspace to join Pens and Tales, a laid-back webcomic community loosely specializing in fantasy.

Those Destined is a standard fantasy parody, surrounding a cynical group of heroes who go on a quest, and face off against some equally cynical villains. And everyone is a cat-person. For no reason.
