Ashurin runs Dark Heaven Born and raised in Plain Dealing, Lousiana, Ashurin is known as the Penguin because of her constant wearing of jackets with hoodies. Ashurin is still in high school (junior), is studying the Japanese language and saving money for a trip to her first anime convention. She is a believer in the afterlife and the rumors of ghosts. She lives in the backwoods of Louisiana with her mother, father, 6-year-old niece, and 4 dogs (Charlie, Rufus and Reno, and Bee). She thinks the woods and her house are haunted.

Ashurin tends to put herself in her own mangas and doujinshis as a female with special powers or is destined to become something else. She also goes under different artist names (DemonRave, Ashe, Yuriko91).

History of Ash's Cartooning Life

Ashurin started drawing at the age of 11 and realized by drawing a girl in an sailor fuku overlooking an alleyway. Her constant drawing in her classes got her in trouble but she always managed to hide the drawings from her teachers. She began writing stories to match with her imagination as well. Her knack at anime-styled art continues to grow at an amazing rate but she is still mediocre at best and pushes for improvement. She is very flexible in her art and tends to change the way her characters act and move forward in the storyline. She also watches a lot of television both online and at home which gives her inspiration for her stories.

In the near future, Ashurin plans on making another doujinshi, Tokyo Garden for Special and Unique Students, based on her favorite animes and her alter egos, Shana and Ashe and another yaoi manga entitled Humannoid Magicks, based on two of her new characters: a highschool student named Minase Kamiya and an android named RyuKYO. Ashurin believes this manga will be similar to that of Xenosaga.
