"Look -- I'm not going to try to write this Wiki entry in an objective, third-person manner. This is Remus, and it's easier to tell you about me in first person.

'Remus Shepherd' is not my real name, but any rumors you've heard that it is the punchline to a dirty joke are mostly unfounded. I've used this name on the net since 1994, so I consider it a name under which I am accountable and approachable, yet still shielded from all the bad stuff on the net. Some of that bad stuff has happened to me in the past, so semi-anonymity is important to me.

I am a regular on the newsgroup alt.devilbunnies, which could be viewed as a form of writing workshop in a shared universe -- a blend of sci-fi, horror and comedy. Alt.db is almost defunct now, as is most of Usenet, but I still count the Devilbunnies as my closest friends. With their encouragement I tried to break into published science fiction with little success, and now I am applying both my writing and drawing talents to creating comics, specifically Indefensible Positions. Check it out.
