Spoder Mon was a forum troll who first appeared on the forums on October 28, 2004. His running gag was to misspell words relating to the Marvel comic character Spider-Man replacing different vowels with the letter O (Mary Jane became Mary Jone, for instance). His original account, called "Spoder Man," was quickly banned by forum admin STrRedWolf because of its enormous signature banner. The user then created a second account named "Spoder Mon," who remained in the forums until banned again on April 14, 2005.
Much debate was raised about the identity of Spoder Mon. His IP addresses indicates that he is a student at the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, the same as Ratbert. Many believe he was actually another forum user, Ratbert, because they both posted on the forum from the same IP address. This theory gained more credibility after one exchange in IRC where Spoder Mon showed up and Ratbert logged in just long enough to give Spoder Mon operator privileges. During this session, Spoder Mon posted a telephone number and invited other chatters to call it, a number with the same area code as Ratbert. Ratbert and Spoder Mon often post messages relatively close to one another on the forums, as well.
Spoder Mon's brief appearances inspired several forum users to feature him in comic art that was posted in different threads.
His interests include Spoder Mon, Spoder Mon and Spoder Mon.
