The Title

CareBears Invasion.

The name of the jam is seen spelled in many different ways.

"CareBears Invasion" is the correct one.

History

An early (started in June,2003) comic jam. Oryginally commanded by M.E.Charm, who later retired and passed the command to YarpsDat. (Who later disappeared, and is willing to pass the command to someone less disappeared.)

The event eventually died out, and despite several attempts at reviving it, and mega spiffy website made for especially for it, it never regained the full popularity, and eventually died again at about 30 pages.

Perhaps it was too much ahead of its times (remember: other than a couple of "experiments", the jams didn't really get popular until late 2004)

Or maybe it was the emphasis on storyline, action and consistency (instead of the usual joke fest), and the coordination we employed to achieve these... resulting in participants spending too much time talking, and not enough time drawing.

Or maybe there were just too many random accidents during the production.

Plot overview

Thousands upon thousands of cloned(or not?) CareBears attack cities.

Forumites somehow have super powers, and decide to stop the invasion.

Oh and there's a menacing arch villain lurking in some evil lair too.

YarpsDat: IMHO there is still much potential left in the story, so if anyone's interested, here's how I see the continuation:

  • Everybody gathers back in the headquater.
  • The science team begins research on the CareBear-Human hybrid, found on page 16 (or on the body of there of) (Like in UFO:enemy unknown)
  • Meanwhile some suspisious activity is detected in a nearby nuclear power plant, and some other place.
  • The teams get rearanged, and one (consisting of various "disposable" characters) gets sent to the other place, while the main players go to the power plant in an armored vehicle. (Aliens style!)
  • The cannon fodder team is later captured and used as hostages, while the main team gets to solve the mystery (ie. find out the villain involved in the invasion, and find a way to stop it).
  • Eventually there's a huge battle, good guys win, and evil guys escape to open up a place for a sequel. =P
