Of Nessa
After being found wondering the woods outside of a decimated village at the age of 6, Nessa was brought up in a tribe of women warriors. One warrior named Zana decided to take her in and raise her. Nessa has no memories of who she is, where she is from or if the name Vanessa is even hers to begin with. Now she has been cast out by the only home she's ever known and journeys to find her past.
After months of traveling from place to place, Nessa stumbles into a fight in the small town of Edion--leading to an invitation to join the Echzeon Military by General Forsythe.
Fighting Style
Nessa's fighting style was taught to her by Zana during the years she lived in the Yandik tribe. Nessa is able to swing the sword the way she does due to Zana's strick policy of learning speed in addition to power. This is based off the belief that power is useless if an enemy can simply move out of the way due to slow attacks. Nessa, however, is a prodigy in this area considering the size of her sword. Her natural strength has proved to be a great asset in battle but the source of many problems among her adoptive tribe, who believe she is a devil because of this.
Vanessa does not like to kill and avoids it whenever she can. She also has fierce loyalty to her comrades and refuses to leave anyone behind.
Vanessa's Sword
Vanessa received her sword from Zana after passing her warrior's trial at 16. Zana told her that she recieved the sword from her own mother the same way and felt that it was time to pass it on. Zana also told her that somehow she felt the sword was destined for Nessa and would help her through many trials. However, Zana refused to tell Vanessa the name of the sword, stating that "when it's ready it will tell you everything you need to know about itself and your own heart".
Trivia
- Nessa is the only character in Echzeon that is naturally left handed.
- Nekko likes to listen to music she works and is often inspired by said music. Minmi's "Who's Theme", Jill Scott's "Beautiful Dreamer", and Nujabas & Fat Jon's "Genome" are some of the songs she says she listens to when writing script for Nessa.
