Characters

Character Age Appearance Description
Jake Clark 23 Image:pessimistpixel_jake.png Jake is a nerd at heart, complete with Dungeons and Dragons manuals, Linux computer, and lack of exposure to ultraviolet radiation. He is fresh out of college and has a nice job dealing with the electronically uneducated masses at Tech Support for a local computer store. He is lazy, cynical, and antisocial. It is also important to note that he also happens to have epically bad aim.
Daniel Johnston 25 Image:pessimistpixel_dan.png Daniel is Jake's housemate, and his opposite in every way. He lifts weights, likes sports, and drinks more than his fair share of alcohol. He's smarter than he looks, however, and can keep up with the others in their banter. He also has anger issues, preferring to simply use his fist instead of long, complicated explanations. Oddly, he's vegetarian.
Ayla Kramer 22 Image:pessimistpixel_ayla.png Ayla is one of Jake's few friends. She lives two floors above him, but spends most of her time at Jake and Daniel's apartment. She is tougher than she looks and fits in well with the guys, making her a sort of "honorary man." She is fascinated by the depths of human stupidity and likes to watch such events unfold, likening them to train wrecks.
Dakr  ? Image:pessimistpixel_dakr.png Originally just a somewhat souped-up Xeno laptop, this computer now comes with a demonic upgrade. An evil spirit is trapped inside due to a faulty seance, and now seeks escape, while entertaining itself at the same time. Even if it did, it wouldn't be all that terrifying; Dakr is all bark and no bite.

Background

The Pixel originally started as a bit of boredom, a break from the work of college with random comics featuring the author directly. My friends enjoyed them, so I made some more, and decided to share them. Pessimist Pixel focuses mostly on absurd humor and sarcasm. The characters, however, are somewhat allegorical, with the basic concepts of Jake, Ayla, and Dan being inspired by real people.
