Summary
The Green Avenger is a loosely autobiographical superhero comic, starring the (self-proclaimed) first superhero from the midwestern state Midwestota, The Green Avenger. It focuses on the personal life of The Green Avenger, AKA Abby Lark, and her trials and tribulations living with a dual identity. More of a slice-of-life (albeit superhero life) humor series than an adventure story or drama, The Green Avenger spends more time confronting her own personal demons than supervillains. Whether this will continue as she grows and goes more into the public spotlight remains to be seen.
Setting
The Green Avenger is set in the fictive US state Midwestota, which is based on the actual US state Minnesota. Midwestota and Minnesota are similar in many ways, the buildings and crime rate and relative obscurity are the same. The only large difference is that Midwestota's capital city is called Twin City, and encompasses the entirety of both real-life Minnesota's Saint Paul and Minneapolis. In the comic, these two sides of town are burroughs and are called Jean-Paul and Jeanne-Marie or Marieapolis.
Characters

Heroes
The Midwestota Hero Cabana
- A superhero group that was formed by The Green Avenger and the Lavender Fey in High School. After High School, the group broke apart.
Abby Lark/The Green Avenger
- Our main character. Abby is a tall, muscular, (more than a little) chubby 22-year-old with superpowers. She grew up idolizing superheroes, and planned on being one from the time she was very young. Though at first it was hero-worship, she later grew to love the ideals of being a superhero. She moved into her own apartment after graduating college, hoping to become Midwestota's first big superhero, but it's proving harder than she thought.
Kelly O'Cara/The Lavender Fey
- Abby's best friend, Kelly possesses extremely powerful psychic abilities. She was born with moderately powerful abilities, but after a traumatic event in High School gained the combined powers of a number of people and is now presumably nearly-unlimited in her powers. However, she refuses to use her powers and is therefore no longer truly a superhero.
First Appearance(s): Psychic ProjectionIn Person
Denise Han/Lady Groincrush
- After being dumped by her boyfriend, Denise forged steel-toed boots and mail gloves in the fires of her former boyfriends unreturned things. Her preferred method of crimefighting is a boot or punch to the bojangles, which makes her effectiveness limited against eunuchs and female villains.
First Appearance: Second from left in bottom panel
Amanda Meier/The Magical Mabulous
- Amanda is a hyper redhead who loves Harry Potter. Her obsessiveness led to an urge to study magic, which she did and eventually learned the secrets of the universe, which she uses mostly to get out of things and punish the people she dislikes. She also fights crime, but because it's fun more than for any other reason.
First Appearance: Far right in bottom panel
Villains
Kali Lashmi/Silvershade
- At a young age, Kali accidentally realized that she had special powers. When she angrily pushed a bully at her catholic school, putting him in the hospital, comatose and with severe anemia, she realized she could steal the very life force out of someone's body, and if they were psychic, she could steal and use their powers. The length of her life is undetermined, though it's possible she's lived at the age of a high school student for many years. She was defeated by the Midwestota Hero Cabana, specifically The Lavender Fey, and rendered powerless and insane. She's resided in a mental hospital for the last four years.
