About Ikirai
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow. Ikirai is a young man who is employed by the Kerenian royals to protect Alexia. He saves her when she's about to be attacked at Nyshada, and fiercely guards her afterwards. However, while fleeing yet another assassination attempt on Alexia's life, he is injured, and is unable to protect Alexia for awhile afterwards. Kouen takes his place, much to his annoyance.
Personality
Ikirai is a completely serious minded person, and does not let anyone, or anything, stand in the way of completing his missions. He does not have much of a sense of humor, though we may, or may not, see a change(unrelated to Alexia) in this as the story progresses.
